About Iganu Safaris South Africa

Stefanutti Stocks is one of South Africa’s largest multidisciplinary construction groups with over 12 000 employees.

Iganu Wildnerness Safaris is a privately owned and operated hospitality business nestled within the Waterberg biosphere, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famed as the only indigenous savannah site in southern Africa with an immense storehouse of cultural, archaeological and biological diversity.

Iganu is traditionally regarded in Venda as place of the marula tree.  The legendary fruit is fabled for “driving elephants mad.” It was a dietary mainstay in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia 10,000 BC and is widely regarded as one of Africa’s botanical treasures. Iganu enjoys an abundance of marula trees which live in perfect harmony with their bushveld or savannah companions the Umbrella Thorn (Acacia) trees, Fever trees and tall tufted grasses.

Our lodge is located off the beaten track near Marken, a one-horse rural village, located about 70 kilometres from Lephalale (previously Ellisras), ideally named “heartbeat of the Bushveld.”

We believe in offering our guests an intimate and comfortable experience in a rustic, ambient environment. Accommodation comprises thatched chalets or rondavels and tented camps overlooking a verdant indigenous garden and the swimming pool.
